I can't image that I am bringing this epic old topic UP again on this forum, but seriously, I need to know what is going on with the broken elevator in the south tower. Is that the management run out of any money to have it looked at and being fixed. It is back to school time, and the waiting time for the shitty elevator can take quite a while. I think the only solution is to have Larlyn people live in this building and to taste what we have been suffering after handing them a monthly fat cheque. This is certainly not tolerable, and I sincerely hope to get their attention to have this issue fixed ASAP!!!!
Modernized Elevator
Is there a reason why the modernized elevator has been out of service twice this weekend? On two separate occasions as soon as I pressed the button for the elevator the light would go off and of course no elevator. Just wondering if this is something I can expect to happen with the new 'upgraded', but same old looking elevator?
Retarded
It's a fucking Disgrace. Someone going to have to get hurt in those piece of shit Elevators before Larlyn gets up off their Asses and gets the fucking things repaired fully. Only way those ancient sacks of shit will work properly.
Going to have to resume my campaign of notices left at random around the south tower warning people about the dogshit quality of management from the crooks that are Larlyn, the glaring flaws that are left alone for months on end, and general subpar quality of the building.
With luck the management office will be giving a walk through to a potential renter and they'll think twice.
Will be so glad to be the fuck out of here when my lease is up.
Get used to it
Best advice I can give is to go to the center tower and use theirs.
Those two shit elevators haven't worked properly since I moved in 2 years ago. Larlyn and it's sympathizers claim "Well the elevator repairmen are really backed up and it costs a lot of money for a complete overhaul." Backed up for two years? And it costs a lot does it? So it's going to take one of the tenants getting hurt in order to get them full repaired?
It's no secret the building has fallen down the hill nicely in the past few months. Moreso than usual. As was mentioned, the gym is gone, the pool is gone, the parkade was a disaster for almost a full year.
The only recourse for tenants is to either live with the lackluster conditions, or move. When my lease is up I'll be happily taking the latter.
Larlyn
The south tower's elevators are so busted that literally when I go to use it I acutally see the difference between the south tower ones and the ones in the other two towers. I feel sorry for the guy who ever gets stuck in the south tower elevator and isn't able to call for help because the phone is missing. We should be thankful that Larlyn has finally fixed the parkade once and for all and I think that during THANKSGIVING, we should be thankful by patting the parkade repairmen on the back.. The parkade repairmen COULD have been lazier in which case you would expect the parkade to be repaired in a few years time. At least the parkade is fixed now .. can't say about the state of the elevators. I am also highly doubtful that teenage punks EAT telephones. Maybe a homeless guy pulled it out expecting to get something at the bottle depot?
Elevator
I noticed one of the elevators had the phone pulled out of it in the south tower as well. I feel sorry for the poor sod who would get stuck in that elevator and have no method of reaching the outside world (provided he didn't have a cell phone of course). You should be thankful you still have one elevator in operation.... this building has already shut down the swimming pool, and gym and made a parkade into a mess. Larlyn obviously believes elevators are a luxury and it wont be long before ALL elevators in all three towers stop working.
haha
you know those phones dont work in ANY of the elevators, right?
Elevator phones
Guardian Telcom makes industrial phones. They have some designed for use in 'vandal prone areas' and 'Correctional institutions'. (CIR-41, CIT-40, VRT-40 or SCR-41) One of these would be probably be excellect for the elevators. I've used their WRT series in a Pulpmill, in several locations including an elevator. They stand up well to a harsh environment. The phones cost upwards of $500. Not cheap, but quality counts where safety is concerned.
This is a Canadian company based in Calgary. Phones can be purchased through Annixter.

Phone Update
In the new elevators, the old phone system is/will be replaced by a simple one touch call button. That way, no idiot can do what has been done to the old phones; that is, destroy them.
We recently discovered that none of the phones work because when we fired Otis, they pulled out all the wires. We are now re-wiring all the elevators (new or old system) so that they all call Sterling.
While this phone system you have highlighted is very intriguing (wish we'd have known about it a few years ago!), as we've already earmarked all the phones systems to be upgraded to the one touch button when each car is modernized, it wouldn't make much sense to try to alter that plan now. Or cost effective. So, we'll all just have to be patient until all the cars are done.
