Plumbing Question

Hi,

I'm an owner and I have a small leak coming from the cold water shut-off under my bathroom sink and I'm not sure whether this is something for which I need to bring in a plumber or if it's something the building is responsible for. When I spoke with Mary in the office she wasn’t sure what I was responsible for and what the building would do and didn’t really know who to ask. I don’t really have a problem getting a plumber in on my own but I don’t want to do that if I’m not supposed to. I’d appreciate any input I could get! Thanks.

Thanks so much. That's actually really helpful!

not a problem

also, I would suggest:

once they are in your suite doing the repairs, ask them to install the smaller shutoff valves under your sink in both the bathroom(s), kitchen, and on the line to the toilet(s).

this way if you need any work done around those things in the future, you dont have to wait for the entire building to be shut off and can work on your own time.

Further to That...

Those valves he speaks of are called ball valves, just so you know exactly what to ask for.

As far as I know: any problem

As far as I know: any problem inside of the wall is taken care of by the condo, and anything inside your suite is your responsibility.

If these are the main water shutoffs as you say, just notify the office of the problem so they can put you on the list so that the issue can be attended to next time there is a round of repairs (aka, a water shutoff day).
