Hey just wondering what is wrong with the gym. Haven't been here all summer and came back and seen it is closed. Is there a estimated time it will be re-opened. Would like to know before buying a membership somewhere else. This building has nothing left... first the pool .. now the gym. Wish this place would actually be maintained.
Gym Closure
The gym is closed indefinitely, because, we had some stormy weather and the water infiltrated in through the windows. So, while there is nothing wrong with the gym equipment, the facility itself requires repair.
The good news is we're going to take this opportunity to install a window that can be opened by gym users to get some air flow in there.
Is there any time we can
Is there any time we can expect this to be finished?? Also will they be adding any new equipment or fixing the cable machine in there ?? Thanks
Timelines
I haven't been given a timeline. But, since we need to make repairs to entirety of the window structure, I expect it to be quite some time.
There are no plans to add any new equipment to the gym at this time. Given that not every user is respectful of the equipment and that space, we have determined that we are not going to invest any money into improving it until we have installed better security and monitoring measures.
We will look into having the cable replaced on the universal machine, however.

i too am waiting for them to fix up the gym. Its been a while, so we can only assume progress is being made - however the job they have to do is pretty big.
I *think* that the entire exterior window is being replaced and re-sealed (since there was a leak there somewhere, and loads of water would get in when it would rain)
so thats probably a pretty big job.
I hope they finish it before the snows set in, crossing my fingers!
Update?
Any update on this? Also, I'm fairly new to the building, where was the gym located? All I have found is the old pool on the 9th.
Firstly, the gym is located
Firstly, the gym is located on the 9th floor of the north tower. You need to be in the north tower, and then take an elevator up to the ninth, as crossover through the pool is not possible at this time (as it once was).
Secondly, the gym has been reopened recently. The board was swayed into the realisation that the process of replacing the leaking windows is inextricably tied to the repair of the pool, and since that is not happening for some time, it would have been foolish to let the gym suffer the same fate.
So some work was done in the gym, and it has now been reopened. More detailed information can be found in the gym itself.
NOTE: a special white key is required to access the gym, the blue key does not grant access. I believe it can be obtained through the site office by asking for 'the gym key'.
Gym
This is truly amazing that the gym is now open. I also noticed the elevator buttons are working as well with full lights and the P3 button I believe is also working without you having to slam the button.
Seems like the Celtic Management company is acutally changing things around...
Nothing against Celtic
Nothing against Celtic myself, but I think credit should be given where credit is due.
The gym was pushed by one of the two resident board members (only two board members out of seven are residents in the building), and thats why the upgrade + reopening occured.
As far as some of the updates and maintenance of the elevators, thats probably Sterling making good on their word to pick up the slack, after Otis did such a piss poor job.
Any upgrades done in the GYM?
Just wondering if any upgrades of the equipments has been done in the GYM. It is actually nice that this GYM has windows, but the equipments definitely need a major overhaul. I am not a fan of the basement gym with only a fan to circulate the air. Anyway, it would be nice to have more equipments and have an updated sign in system, like the nob, rather than just a key. Or perhaps install a security camera, just in case young punks in this complex deliberately punch them upon high adrenaline rush.
Also, just called the on site office and found out that the key to access the GYM is at 75 bucks for deposit. No matter what, I have nothing but positive experiences with Celtics so far. At least, someone will answer my phone when I called in. Perhaps, I am too easy to be pleased after Audrey and Sherry, who will never ever answer the phone call or call you back.
Hopefully, we will see more positive changes with our complex with the dedication of our board members and the new management company.
Gym Upgrades
We have plans to make some improvements to the gym, but with a modest budget, they will come over time, as we seek the best value for purchases.
We are investigating installing a proper security/monitoring system, but as this is expensive, it will take some time. However, once that system is in place, we will likely increase our budget for gym equipment, having taken the necessary precautions to ensure the integrity of our facility.
Unfortunately, however, the idea of the window (and air flow) is tied in with the pool repairs, so that piece of infrastructure won't come into place until that matter is resolved. It WILL happen, just not as soon as we had originally hoped.
