The door to the mailroom appears to be non functioning....there is no handle anymore and I have not received mail for two weeks, which is very odd. I'm imagining the postal worker can't enter the room to deliver mail....any information on this?
I will look at it today, and figure out what it going on. Normally, if there is a problem in receiving the mail, the post office notifies us right away. However, since we do not have a site office person, perhaps they have tried and the message hasn't gotten through.
I will ask some other south denizens if they are receiving their mail.
Apparently Canada Post deliveries were not interrupted. I finally received a dump of mail the other day with postal delivery notices from the 15th of July so I know mail was delayed. I also see there is a new steel door in the mail room which is now broken (again) as I was able to push it open with my pinky finger. Not sure that door will be suitable either????
No the new door will work fine, once the lock is installed. Problem is, only Canada Post has those locks. I'm meeting with the door installer today. I hope to get it all sorted out as soon as possible. The timing of this issue couldn't have been worse, as the PM companies are/were tied up with the transfer (and I'm not on site during the day to be able to deal with it).
Mail service should now be restored. Apparently (and we just found this out on Monday), not only was the mail room in the building broken, but so was the key set the post office uses in the intercom system to open the interior door. With the mail door broken, it was never made fully clear that there were two separate door issues.
It's all taken care of, but whoever smashed in the mail room door looks to have also sabotaged the lock. That's quite disturbing.
