Things I'll Miss:
- The View from my Balcony. Was nice. Was high enough so you could see a fair amount of the cityscape.
- The Convenience. Save On across the street was useful. Was also close to my other halves work. Close to the LRT meant it was often faster than driving if you were going somewhere. The 104 Farmers Market was a few blocks away. Will miss that one a lot.
- Er...Think that's it.
Things I Won't Miss:
- My shitty neighbors above me with their incessant Renovations over the years.
- My shitty neighbors beneath me and their incessant Weed smoking. Coming home to a kitchen full of weed smoke is fantastic when you're not into it at all. Have a kid? Then let them breath it in too! Fun for the whole family, as Capital Centre is a 420 friendly building!* Nothing better than having your balcony windows closed on a hot day, because the chronic douchebags act like they're tweens.**
- The View. The construction on 108th is great. Fucking eyesore. Capital Boulevard. Rips the douchechills from me every single goddam time I walk by it.
- The noise. Kind of a multifaceted point. Take your pick. The garbage trucks? The shitty neighbors and their crap stereos? The shopping cart bums and their bottles getting shoved up that alley? The drunks from the plethora of bars that always seem to wander around during the early hours("Bro! BRO! Let's go to fucking Public House! I'm sick of Pint!")?
- The elevators. Spoke to someone on the inside. The condo board has known for sometime how they're shitty. Finally caught up with them during the last elevator inspection, when they were told how they have X days to fix them permanently, or the ones in the south tower will just be shut down. Cool. Good to know that those using them now have no clue how they're unsafe. Thumbs up.
- Speaking of the dumbshit condo board, that inane 50/50 draw for that stupid treadmill. Comedic how the condo board pleads poverty, yet they've enough coin to buy it outright. Oh wait. I don't know that. And it's false. Right? Sorry, my mistake.
- A different site manager every 3 months (exaggeration, but only slight). In close to 4 years, there've been 5 I'm aware of. Did you know the latest one is on the way out too? But I don't know that either. Good job condo board. Micromanaging twats. Wonder why they keep leaving...can't be the condo board.
- The Homeless that frequent the entryways and how it's never ending.
- The puke, spilled beer, and piss in the main lobby. So stylish for only 1400 a month.
- The band aids of effort put into fixing the major wounds surrounding the place. Little Spackle and paint, and you're good for another few months, right? I mean after all, have a look at the water heaters that have never worked properly since I moved in long ago.
- The Crime. Stabbings close by. Fights. Cars getting broke into. The random gunfire every once in a while. Heavenly. (Hey that's not capital centres fault! Don't care. Leads to my next point)
- The lackluster Security. Or how there is none beyond the constantly breaking door locks in the lobby. Ever call the security line to report something? An answering machine. A fucking answering machine. Nice and safe. Sometimes I'll see someone in a security outfit walking the grounds. Either the guy that was at Christs birth (he's Old. Get it?) or the tubby woman with the Caesar Haircut. No wonder I bring a knife with me when I left my unit.
The rent is way cheaper where I moved to. The air alone is worth the move. The amount of dust dragged up from that alley that's not in the air is worth it by itself. People are cordial and friendly. I knew my neighbors on day 3, as opposed to that hovel downtown where I didn't know a single one ever. Say hello to them, and they're suddenly deaf.
Overall, I couldn't be happier to be gone. It's like breaking up with a really shitty significant other. Godspeed Capital Center. You overpriced piece pile of crap. ***
*/** = 'So go ask them to stop'. Really? Don't think I haven't been banging on their door with a hammer? The dents are from me. They pussy out and don't answer.
*** = Yes I'm well aware this post will likely be deleted outright, or at the very least heavily edited. Why wouldn't it? Truth hurts.
